Its the start of the Portraiture for Beginners at The Drawing Room. Portraiture is a subject that I like to hold back until I feel that students have really gained some confidence in their skills and abilities as there's nowhere to hide when you're drawing faces, any errors are easy to see and this can cause frustration and a loss of confidence. However, as always, the class was full of enthusiasm and keen to have a go producing some great studies on proportions of the face. The homemade apple cake went down a treat and everyone went home happy and full.
